"We've never wanted to maintain any kind of formula," says Hector. "This has been difficult because from album to album weve changed drastically, and many fans have asked 'why do you change so much?' Well, thats the idea!!"
The group found that the new sound worked, when in 2000 they were on the Watcha Tour with bands like Café Tacuba and Molotov. One of the best moments of the show was the surprising electronic version of "Florecita Rockera."
They launched 'Gozo Poderoso' en 2000, another change in direction from their previous albums, especially because they decided to produce it themselves. The album was recorded in Bogotá where they were able to use local musicians to play traditional instruments, creating a successful marriage between electronic sounds and tropical music. With this album they won their first Grammy in the category of best Latin Alternative Rock Album.
