bio: Sun Ra (1914 ? 1992) started his jazz performances in 1956 with his own Arkestra in which he used Egyptian and science fiction images. His pioneering in using synthesizers and electronic instruments made him create experimental, futuristic and extraterrestrial music. Sun Ra is one of the most inspiring musicians for the label, therefore an inspiration album was released on which contemporary artists in all musical genres contributed; Kirk Degiorgio, Vanessa Freeman, Madlib, Jimi Tenor, Theo Parrish, Recloose, Fransisco Mora, King Britt and Mocky.
