bio: Introducing 'Electroleum', the spectacular second album from London based electronic duo 7Hurtz (aka Lascelles Lascelle and Ben Cowan), set for release on Output recordings on May 26th 2003. The follow up to 2000's acclaimed 'Audiophiliac', sees the pair unleash a monumental pulsing epic that will establish them as one of the bright new talents in the world of electronica. From the Grandiose strings, "beautiful bleeping house" (? Arena Magazine) and dark pop aesthetic of 'Tension On Sight'? to the tripped out breaks, and sultry female vocals that haunt on 'Distance', via the pounding beat assault of 'Kaye'. As a whole 'Electroleum' is a complicated and interesting piece of work that lures, and lulls, charms and excites all with equal vigour.
'Electroleum' is a dark, pulsing, powerful and intensely beautiful affair. Tripping and glitching beats, pounding bass and multi layered sonic experimentalism that sits comfortably as the link between the lounging spaciousness of Royksopp's 'Melody AM' and stark primal pulsing of Boards Of Canada's 'Geogaddi'. Dysfunctional disco, dubbed out breaks, clattering electronic drum showers, all precision timed for your enjoyment.
7 Hurtz will be performing live around the release of the album. Dates tbc.
