bio: Dealers of Nordic Music is the two partners Andreas Agdestein and Jakob Lusensky. Since the start in 2002 they are on a mission to raise the interest in Scandinavian contemporary music. This is done by the releases of compilation albums, artist releases and by dealing the music from behind the dj-decks on various venues around the globe.
The DNM music catalogue is focused on quality electronic music from Scandinavian producers. Nu-jazz, house, lounge, jazz and electronic music are all definitions trying to pin-point the styles that is represented. From this catalogue they put together musical concepts and release artist albums with the aim to inspire and influence the customer.
Compilations
Dealers of Nordic Music put together musical concepts within different fields of contemporary Scandinavian music. The main idea is that the productions should work as a two-way platform. For the artists it should be a stepping stone to reach out to a wider audience. For the customer they should be a guideline and inspiration resource for discovering more music from the Scandinavian music scene.
Artist philosophy
Nowadays it seems like artists have to be producers, promoters, lawyers, managers, bookers, all in one. Our philosophy is that one should do what one is best at. We know that our artists make the best music and we want them to focus on that. Therefore we take an overall responsibility for our artists, taking care of everything from publishing and licensing to bookings and promotion. This also means we only work with a few artists building the artist brand in the mind of our customer and looking to create a long term relation between us and the artist.
Our partners
Dealers of Nordic Music would not exist other then a vision in our mind without the network of professional people we work with on a day to day basis. This network includes our distributors, publishers, promoters, agents, music bookers and last but not least the ?friends of DNM? street team. All those people somehow share our dedication and help us reach our goals.
