bio: Basement Jaxx Signed to XL six years ago as a Brixton based house production duo, the 2005 model of Basement Jaxx sees the transformation complete; from respected London DJ knob-twiddlers to a globe-trotting live act, injecting a large order of sex and multi-cultural sashay onto the main stage at rock festivals, forging the hitherto unexplored link between androgynous Latin-disco exotica, cutting-edge urban verbals, and full-on Boys Own rawk power. In that time there have been three UK Top 5 albums: Remedy (1999), Rooty (2001) and Kish Kash (2003), collaborations with vocalists as disparate as Dizzee Rascal and Siouxsie Sioux, and the unstoppable run of raucous, infectious, kaleidoscopic singles that make up their most recent album, 'The Singles'.
The collection of singles spans everything from the proto punk garage of early hit Flylife to the Motown monster that is Good Luck, taking in worldwide smashes like Red Alert, Where’s Your Head At, Rendez Vu and Romeo.
