bio: Diego Montinaro started to make music in1994 with a little Atari and an Akai S950 sampler; his early productions were in hip hop territory and ended up in his first project 'La Kermesse' released in1996. In1998, under the moniker Goedi & Medda he released 'Scena Vera', his first official production with his partner Medda (one of the most promising MC's in Italy at the time), gaining great support form critics and public alike. During the same year he also released the single 'Le mie orecchie' (My Ears) on V2/Universal under the name Microspasmi. A few months later he produced the album '13 Pezzi Per Svuotare La Pista' (13 tracks to empty the dancefloor...): dark hip hop grooves with rare groove and jazz-funk samples. Since 2001 Diego has been more involved with electronic music, both as a DJ and as a producer. He launched the Boogie Drama project, together with Milano based DJ Lele Sacchi, their first track 'Hypnofunk' was released in 2002 as part of the compilation 'House Emotions' on Sacchi's Soundplant, label, followed by another track 'Saturday Session', included in the eponymous compilation. Early in 2003 Diego produced a remix of 'Who said' by Planet Funk, released on their label Bustin' Loose. At the end of 2003 he joined forces with DJ Bassi Maestro and MC Rido for the Elettrovoltage venture, with live/DJ sets based on sounds that range from Clash, Gino Soccio and Kraftwerk to Telex, Rob Base and De La Soul. In 2004 he produced as Boogie Drama a remix of 'Body Shaker' by Holmar Filippson & Greg Oreck, released by German label Mood Music. Before the end of the year Soundplant released the new Boogie Drama single 'Zardoz', with remixes by Stylophonic and Ciudad Feliz. At the same time another single, 'Stalker's Groove', is released on Hamburg based label Was Not Was. Since then Diego has been busy working on this new album, heavily influenced by 80's Electro and Disco, together with seminal Italian producer Fred Ventura, where Diego himself even sings on some tracks.
