>> Jalapeno
bio: Inspired by the quirky musical leanings that characterised the pair's longstanding friendship (they first met in the early '90s while dodging university in Brighton to play in a string of rock and metal bands), Al and El notched up an enviable arsenal of chart-bothering tracks (under various pseudonyms - Da Muttz, Shaft, 10K, IKON, Skeewiff and Buena Ventura...) including four UK top 20 hits and six number 1's around the world. Recent additions to the roster include Dutch trio Kraak & Smaak, Uk based Ikon (2) and Canadian duo Wicked Lestor. Released also include Doug Lazy, signed for his classic hip house track 'Let it Roll'. Spin-off imprint Illegal Beats was set up in 2002 as an outlet for house and disco club tracks and is already gathering momentum, with signed artists Kid Crème, Monkey Boie Rascal and Zodiac spearheading what promises to be a powerful assault on the ears of clubland. As producers, the prolific Jalapeno pair have also worked with Alison Limerick, Elevator Suite, Supersister, Osibisa & Clyde Stubblefield, Young MC, Incognito, The Brotherhood, Skooly D, as well as nurturing emerging talents like Ian Britt.
